The Covered Stop Sign

A roadway contractor installed this detour sign that blocked an existing stop sign. This photo was taken from a low angle so that the viewer could see the stop sign. If the viewer was at SUV or pick-up truck height the stop sign would be completely obscured.

This T-intersection is the rear entrance of a new neighborhood. Many new residents as well as drivers looking at homes, all who would be unfamiliar with this area, could easily drive right through this intersection and cause a serious crash. In addition, there are numerous contractors driving through this area every day. And, they all drive higher trucks and vans that would make it impossible for them to see the stop sign.
